The most exciting game of round 14 in the ASEAN League took place in Kuala Lumpur. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Malaysian WM Dragons (8-6) to seventh ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (6-8) 88-87 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of WM Dragons. They outrebounded WM Dragons 60-43 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Singapore Slingers made 8 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) who had a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) chipped in 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Cade Davis (197-88, college: Oklahoma) produced 37 points (!!!) for the hosts. WM Dragons' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Singapore Slingers maintains seventh position with 6-8 record. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WM Dragons have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Formosa D. Defending Filipino champion Alab Pilipinas keep the second position with six games lost.
